What We Do
BOARD INTERVENTIONS & TENDING
In
the past decade, more and more of our work with senior management has found
us attending and intervening in work that occurs in the boardroom, as part
of coaching assignments.
In
many instances, we have been retained by boards to assist with challenges
faced when new members shift the configuration of a board, there is a need
to experience an intervention not internally generated, or basic board behavior
needs tending.
At
times boards require outside assistance in becoming strategic or learning
to work together as a community. Sometimes there is a necessity to restructure
a code of conduct, rewrite by-laws, or review policy and procedural manuals
with the intent of improving the overall operating efficiency of a board.
Oftentimes,
an outside neutral intervener is more likely to provide leadership and direction
to the board at this critical juncture.
As in all of our assignments, we work towards a mutual understanding with all stakeholders as to our intent: providing a safe environment where the potential of building lasting community and providing significant outcomes can also heighten and enhance the opportunity for understanding and respect for all participants.
